Triple Podium Triumph for Danny Dyszelski and VPX Motorsport at Watkins Glen

September 1, 2025

17-year-old Danny Dyszelski achieved a triple podium performance this past weekend at the legendary Watkins Glen International Raceway in New York State, securing three second-place finishes against a highly competitive field.

Grit and Glory in Adversity

Coming off a spectacular rain-soaked win at Road America, Danny Dyszelski once again proved his talent and resilience, tackling Watkins Glen—a track he had never driven before—amid minimal practice and crew shortages. Despite facing significant logistical hurdles, including a last-minute decision to compete, a shortage of crew, and no truck driver to transport equipment, the team rallied with determination and professionalism.

Exceptional Performance Under Pressure

In qualifying, Dyszelski faced tire challenges that left him with only three laps to record a time. Remarkably, he secured P2 and P4 grid positions for Races 1 and 2. Danny converted these starts into second-place finishes in each of the weekend’s races, consistently battling car balance and tire issues while displaying composure and racecraft well beyond his 17 years.

During Race 2, starting from P4, Dyszelski executed a decisive move in Turn 1, overtaking seasoned competitors and maintaining a strong pace to finish P2, further elevating his learning curve and momentum.

Team Triumph and Forward Focus

VPX Motorsport Team Owner Vince Partap said, “We were not supposed to be here. We initially decided against competing at Watkins Glen as next weekend we have a triple-header in Pirelli GT4 America at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, and then Road Atlanta the following weekend for the final Porsche Sprint Challenge North America round. With not enough crew and no truck driver, our presence here was never guaranteed. What the team and Danny accomplished under these circumstances is remarkable.”

He added, “The results at Watkins Glen have truly boosted team confidence. Coming here with no prior testing, no setup knowledge, and limited resources, we still achieved three podiums against experienced teams. It just shows with the right people, processes, and determination, what can be achieved. We look forward to bringing even more to the final rounds at Atlanta.”
