Elkhart Lake, WI – August 10, 2025
Seventeen-year-old Danny Dyszelski earned his first overall victory in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America GT3 Cup class this past weekend at the legendary Road America circuit. Battling treacherous wet-weather conditions on one of the fastest racetracks in North America, Dyszelski showed maturity far beyond his years, controlling the race from start to finish with flawless pace and precision.

The weekend began with adversity as Race 1 was canceled on Saturday due to lightning in the area. When the weather cleared, heavy rain still soaked the 4.048-mile Wisconsin track, setting the stage for a high-stakes, high-skill showdown.
From the drop of the green flag, Danny kept his cool under intense pressure. On the opening laps, he masterfully defended his lead against aggressive challengers, demonstrating patience and racecraft that ensured he stayed in contention. His main rival, Cole Kleck, suffered a rare strategic misstep by pulling off before the green flag, allowing Danny to lead the field while Kleck fought his way back through traffic.
Once out front, Dyszelski was untouchable. Every single lap, he clocked the fastest time on track, pushing harder and finding more grip with each tour of the circuit. In a remarkable show of endurance and focus, he set his fastest lap of the race on the very last lap, further extending his commanding gap to the rest of the GT3 Cup field.
“I’m really happy with my first win in the Porsche GT3 Cup car. I feel like I was able to find the grip in the wet conditions very well and the large lead I created early in the race allowed me to just focus forward and not stress about having to defend,” said Danny.
VPX Motorsport Owner and Team Principal Vince Partap praised Danny’s performance and the team’s preparation:
“We were a bit disappointed when Race 1 was cancelled due to weather, as we had a good wet-weather setup we were eager to validate. We got a second opportunity today in changing wet conditions, and Danny was able to take advantage of this setup—producing consistent, successively faster laps as the race went on. He delivered purple sectors almost every single lap, along with the fastest lap award. He showed impressive consistency, ability, and restraint, which resulted in an impressive lead over the second-place car at the finish. This was a pivotal success for Danny, as this is only his third race in this car. We are looking forward to a triple header race weekend at Watkins Glen.”
This breakthrough performance not only marks a milestone victory for Danny Dyszelski in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America but also signals that the young driver is a legitimate contender in professional sports car racing. With proven speed in both wet and dry conditions, Dyszelski’s future looks brighter than ever.
