Third victory at Trois-Rivières and more podiums

VPX Motorsport continued to add podiums and supporters at its first Grand Prix in Quebec.

Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada (10 August 2023)

VPX motorsport builds on its recent wins at Toronto Honda Indy by adding another win to its record. Nick Galante driving the No. 77 Mercedes AMG GT4 took pole on Friday for the traditional night race of Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières and led the majority of the Race 1 from start but eventually lost that position in the last moments fo the race to the fast Mustang.

The crew worked feverishly through the night and morning to fix some bruising to the car incurred in Race 1.  The intensity of Race 2 was even greater. Galante started on the outside of the front row, and made a green-flag bid to the outside. Polito started third but quickly took the lead by splitting the front-row cars. Galante fell to third but regained second by the end of the first lap. He chased Polito for the remainder of the 30-minute race, making several bids in the closing laps. A chance for a final charge was negated when several TCR cars tangled in the final minute, forcing the race to end under caution.

Invigorated by the competition, Alex Ellis our engineer made some additional changes to the setup, and thus allowing Nick to lead all 20 laps in Race 3 to a victory.

Vince traded responsibilities this weekend, giving up owner/team principal duties to drive the No. 3 car in all the races.  This was his first time back in the car since last year and he surpassed all goals set for this impressive street circuit, even coming home with a 3rd place finish in Race 3. ” I had an amazing time being back racing after many months and had a smile the entire time. This was our first time at GP3R and it lived up to all the expectations,” said VPX Motorsport team principal Vince Partap. “We welcomed back Phil, Nick and the R2EA team. It was great to see the interest taken by fans and people of all ages in the car, and the message it was trying to spread. We loved having the opportunity to be a part of that again.”

A massive thank you and congratulations to the VPX crew and support staff who worked without rest for 3 days to deliver us some amazing cars and an extraordinary experience for our first time at Grand Prix de Trois Rivières, Quebec.

We could not have achieved any of this without the support of our partners Zanchin Autmotive group , Nelson Gonchar BMO Wealth Management and Wrapconceptz and all our fans.

Looking to do this again at the final race weekend on Labour Day Long Weekend at CTMP. Hope you join us!
