Daytona Beach, FL — January 27, 2026 — This past weekend, VPX Motorsport made an impressive debut in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, securing a seventh-place finish in the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona International Speedway. The team fielded their No. 7 Porsche Cayman Clubsport GT4 RS with drivers Matheus Leist and Danny Dyszelski, marking Dyszelski’s first IMSA appearance.

A Confident Start

VPX Motorsport showed competitive pace early in the event, maintaining top-ten performance throughout the Roar Before the 24 and official practice sessions. Leist carried that momentum into qualifying, posting a P2 result that placed the team on the front row for Friday’s four-hour endurance race.

Race Recap

When the green flag waved at 1:45 PM on Friday, Leist managed a clean opening stint in a crowded 51-car field, holding the No. 7 Porsche steadily within the lead pack. Multiple full-course cautions complicated pit stop strategies, but the team maintained poise and consistency throughout the race.

Dyszelski took over later, continuing the team’s strong performance and keeping VPX solidly inside the top ten. For the final stint, Leist returned to the cockpit, delivering consistent pace that saw the team briefly cycle into first place during pit stop rotations. After four hours of hard-fought racing, VPX Motorsport crossed the finish line seventh in the GS class, out of 35 competitors, 7th overall, and the highest finishing Porsche.

Voices from the Team

Team Principal and Owner Vince Partap reflected on the milestone weekend:

“Our first four-hour race at Daytona was definitely much harder than we anticipated. There are teams that have been doing this for a decade or longer, and this was our first year in IMSA and at Daytona, so we knew we would have to dig deep. We spent numerous test days learning the tire and setting up the car.

The race itself had frequent cautions, which our engineer and strategist navigated with solid tire and fuel management to keep us in the top ten and achieve our goal of being the highest-placing Porsche. Seventh was about where our conservative strategy placed us, and I’m extremely proud of our drivers, crew, and engineers for executing in such a competitive field. Immense thanks to our partners, sponsors, Porsche Motorsport North America, and Porsche for their unwavering support.”

Looking Ahead

With their first IMSA event complete and valuable experience gained, VPX Motorsport now turns its focus to building upon this strong foundation throughout the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.
