Alton, VA —July 23, 2025 — VPX Motorsport marked an exciting milestone over the weekend at Virginia International Raceway, capturing their very first Silver class podium in the GT4 America series with the #77 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The team’s exhilarating performance from returning veteran Alex Ellis and rising star Danny Dyszelski will go down as an instant highlight in the team’s journey.
From the outset, the #77 car was a force to be reckoned with. Alex Ellis put down a blistering qualifying lap to start P3 for race one, while 17-year-old Danny Dyszelski wowed the grid by grabbing pole position for race two. The opening race was a nail-biter—dramatic weather brought rain and a lightning delay, cutting the race short and mixing up the field. Despite a handful of minor setbacks, Danny powered through in the closing stint to bring the car home with an impressive recovery in P4.
Sunday saw the #77 line up on the front row, and fans were treated to a race-long battle among the Silver class’s best. The duo briefly slipped back to P8 overall but clawed their way back up through the field. The final position change was a moment of pure racing magic where Alex Ellis launched a daring move on the back straight during the final lap. The overtake secured a spectacular P3 in-class and P4 overall finish—VPX Motorsport’s first-ever podium in the series, sparking celebrations throughout the team.
Ellis’s achievement is made even more remarkable as it marks his first podium since the Jim Russell F3 championship in 2010, having only returned to professional racing late in 2024 after a 14-year hiatus. Meanwhile, Danny Dyszelski, just 17, continued to defy expectations in the highly competitive pro category, challenging seasoned veterans with style and maturity beyond his years.
“I’m really proud of the results this weekend. VPX brought an amazing car and I felt that Alex and I got the most out of it. I hope that we can bring these results for the rest of the season!” said Dyszelski.
Vince Partap, VPX Motorsport Owner and Team Principal, added:
“We came into this weekend after a successful debut in the GT3 cup car in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America last week. The team had a couple of days of testing in the GT4, specifically working on certain aspects of our race strategy and driver development, which showed some immediate results with Danny Dyszelski putting the car on pole position for race 2. Race one was challenging in the rain, but we finished in a strong position. In race 2, we built on that momentum, and achieved a podium with some impressive driving by Alex Ellis. It has been an extremely difficult year, so it’s very satisfying for the team to be able to show what we are capable of.”
VPX Motorsport thanks its partners, fans, and everyone in the GT4 America paddock for their encouragement and support throughout this landmark weekend. The team is more motivated than ever to keep pushing for the top as the season unfolds.
